Business Management - Marketing Management (MKTG)

The Marketing Management major of Business Management is dedicated to preparing students for careers in a variety of marketing and management positions. Learning opportunities, including internships, are provided which introduce and develop academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for success on the job. Students will study aspects of marketing including retail management, sales promotion, and advertising. During marketing classes, students will be able to design comprehensive advertising campaigns, conduct marketing research, and develop sales presentations.

Graduates qualify for careers in store management, buying, advertising, publicity, sales, and other related marketing positions. This exciting and expanding field should appeal to the individual who thrives on challenge, likes people, and relates well to others.

Students in this program will be able to:

  1. Analyze a basic business issue and recommend a solution through oral/written communication using knowledge gained in the Business curriculum.
  2. Use written and oral communications to effectively show application of business principles from a variety of curriculum subjects (Market Analysis, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and Management).
  3. Analyze an advanced business issue and recommend a solution through oral/written communication using knowledge gained in the Business curriculum.
  4. Develop a business plan demonstrating knowledge of principles in Market Analysis, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and Management.
  5. Analyze their preparation for transfer to a four-year college, for advancement in their current position, or to directly enter the workforce.

NOTE:


Students must complete the computer literacy requirement in order to graduate which may be met through competency testing or completion of a program specific computer course.
