BIOL 2016 - General Microbiology Laboratory

Credits: 1 Lecture: 0 Lab: 3

An introduction to basic bacterial laboratory tests, including the inoculation of agar plates, slants, and broths, streak plating, Gram staining the proper use of growth, selective, and differential media, and antibiotics susceptibility. The final laboratory test requires students to properly identify an unknown bacterium. 

Prerequisite: A grade of “C” or better in BIOL 2015   or BIOL 2010.
