A.POLICY
Zane State College is committed to empowering people, especially its own faculty and staff. An important component of this is a system through which employees receive feedback on their performance. To achieve this, the College strives to provide each employee with clear performance objectives, ongoing coaching and feedback, professional development, and recognition for outstanding work.
B.POLICY GUIDELINES
- This policy applies to all annual staff employees. All employees must receive a performance review at least once a year. Supervisors should have a minimum of two checkpoint meetings with their direct reports throughout the year.
- The employee and the supervisor will work together to identify clear performance objectives. These performance objectives should align with departmental and division goals and the College’s strategic plan.
- As needed, supervisors will provide coaching to help employees identify strengths and achieve goals.
- The written document resulting from the annual review will be retained in the employee’s personnel file. Supervisors have the flexibility to customize the performance review in consultation with the Office of Human Resources. Review forms must be signed by the supervisor and employee. An employee’s signature does not imply agreement with the review.
- An employee can request an appeal to the next level of supervision.
