A.POLICY
Position descriptions for each position reflect essential functions, minimum requirements and job titles. The Office of Human Resources recommends appropriate titles, and determines classifications and salary ranges for each position, consistent with ZSC practices, compensation operating principles and industry standards. Requests to hire new, replacement, as well as requests to evaluate existing positions are made through the College’s established business processes.
Zane State College uses labor market salary surveys to determine appropriate pay levels for positions. Labor markets are analyzed periodically and salary ranges are adjusted accordingly.
Annual base salary adjustments will be determined by the Board of Trustees approved budget for the College. Salary distribution methods will be determined annually by the President’s Cabinet following the approval of the budget. Specific ongoing practices of the College include the following:
B.POLICY GUIDELINES
- Faculty salary adjustments occur as follows:
- New faculty starting in August may receive their first salary adjustment the following August.
- Faculty hired other than fall semester must satisfactorily complete two academic semesters of full-time employment in order to receive an annual base salary adjustment.
- Administrators, Professional and Support staff employees’ annual salary adjustments occur as follows:
Annual employees on new hire probation will be eligible for a base salary adjustment (prorated effective the next complete pay period) after the successful completion of the new-hire probationary period. The salary increase will be equivalent to the amount as determined by the President’s Cabinet as noted in A (paragraph 3) above.
- There will be no salary adjustments for employees on disciplinary probation.
