A.POLICY
The College supports the philosophy of employees participating in flexible scheduling as long as the schedule has been preapproved by the immediate supervisor and the office/department has adequate coverage and remains effective during normal hours of operation. Normal hours of operation are defined as hours in which the office/department is open for business on a day-to- day basis or what the published hours of operation states.
B.POLICY GUIDELINES
Supervisors are encouraged to be creative with departmental scheduling for those employees who desire to participate. Supervisors should also continually monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of flexible scheduling for their employees and the office/department. Typically, a request for flex-time hours is to adjust the start or end of the work day. The request may or may not include adjusting the lunch hour by 30-minutes or less.
Flexible scheduling is up to the discretion of the supervisor and based upon the needs of the College and is subject to change based on operational needs. See the Office of Human Resources for the Flex-Time Form.
