Purpose:
To establish a clear and consistent policy regarding student access to official high school and college transcripts submitted to Zane State College.
Procedure:
- Official Transcript Ownership
Official transcripts (high school or college) submitted to Zane State College become the property of the College and are maintained as part of the student’s official academic record.
2.No Copies Provided to Students
Zane State College does not provide copies-electronic or printed-of official high school or college transcripts submitted by other institutions. This policy applies to all official documents, whether received electronically or in hard copy.
3.Recommendation to Students
Students requesting a copy of a transcript submitted to Zane State will be advised to contact the original institution directly to request an official or unofficial copy. The originating institution is the only authorized source to issue and certify their transcripts, ensuring the document’s integrity and accuracy.
4.Rationale for Policy
Releasing copies of official transcripts submitted by other institutions could compromise the authenticity and security of academic records. To preserve transcript integrity, ensure compliance with best practices, and protect student information, Zane State College cannot duplicate or redistribute transcripts from other schools.
5.Exceptions
No exceptions will be made to this policy.
