A.POLICY
This policy defines prerequisites and co-requisites for courses at Zane State College. It establishes the conditions under which students must complete specific requirements prior to or concurrently with enrollment in certain courses.
B.POLICY GUIDELINES
- Definitions
- Prerequisite: A course, experience, or condition that must be completed before enrolling in another course.
- Co-requisite: A course or requirement that must be taken simultaneously with another course.
- Purpose of Prerequisites and Co-requisites
- Prerequisites and co-requisites ensure that students possess the necessary knowledge, skills, or experience to succeed in advanced coursework.
- They are listed in the Programs and Curricula section of the College Catalog at the end of each course description.
- Enrollment Requirements
- Students must meet all published prerequisites and co-requisites prior to or at the time of course enrollment.
- Students who enroll without meeting the prerequisites or co-requisites will be administratively removed from the course.
- Course Listings and Advising
- Prerequisite and co-requisite requirements are listed in the course descriptions found in the College Catalog and online course registration system.
- Students are encouraged to work with an academic advisor to ensure they have met all necessary requirements before registering for a course.
C.POLICY HISTORY
- This policy is effective immediately.
