- POLICY
To promote student success, all college faculty (full-time, adjunct, and CCP) are required to use the college learning management system (also known as Blackboard).
Every course section will be published in Blackboard by the first day of term. Blackboard will be used for all course sections and will include:
- Method of Communication - During the academic term, faculty will establish an approved college method of communication with students, e.g. official student email or Blackboard messages and establish a timeframe for question responses not to exceed 24 hours on weekdays and 48 hours on weekends/holidays, unless otherwise posted.
- Assignments and Assessments - All assignment and assessment grades will be posted to the Blackboard gradebook within the timeframe established by each discipline. This should generally not exceed 7 to 14 days after the assignment due date, based on the type/length of assignment, unless extenuating circumstances exist that will be discussed with the division dean.
Each published Blackboard course section will include the following:
- The course section syllabi
- Open Education Resources where available and where meeting course objectives
- PowerPoints, handouts, and other instructional material used in the class
- Grades for all assignments and assessments
- If an assignment/assessment will be graded, possible maximum points assigned
- Due date for each assignment/assessment
- Time frame for students to expect feedback
