This policy outlines the structure and credit hour standards of the academic calendar at Zane State College, ensuring alignment with institutional and state requirements.

 

B.POLICY GUIDELINES

 

1. Semester Hour System
   • Classes are scheduled on a semester system.
   • An academic semester comprises fifteen weeks of classes and one week for examinations and registration.
   • The academic year consists of fall and spring semesters and a summer term.
2. Definition of a Semester Credit Hour
   • A semester credit hour is awarded based on a minimum of 750 minutes of direct instructional time, regardless of scheduling formats.
3. Credit Hours for Clinicals and Practicums
   • Credit hours for clinicals, practicums, and similar experiences comply with the standards established by the Ohio Department of Higher Education Operating Manual for Two-Year Campus Programs.
