3357:12-14-13-Residency Requirements for Career Enhancement and One-Year Certificates


A.POLICY:

 

The purpose of this policy is to establish the residency requirements for students pursuing Career Enhancement Certificates and One-Year Certificates at Zane State College. These requirements ensure that students complete a substantial portion of their coursework at Zane State College, benefiting from the College’s academic resources and instructional quality.

 

To be awarded a Career Enhancement Certificate or a One-Year Certificate from Zane State College, students must meet the outlined residency requirements.

 

B.POLICY GUIDELINES:

 

  1. Career Enhancement Certificate Residency Requirement:
    • For Career Enhancement Certificates requiring 10 credit hours or more, students must complete at least 70% of the required coursework at Zane State College.
    • For Career Enhancement Certificates requiring less than 10 credit hours, all coursework must be completed at Zane State College.
  2. One-Year Certificate Residency Requirement:
    • Students pursuing a One-Year Certificate must complete at least 70% of the required coursework in residence at Zane State College to qualify for certificate conferral.
  3. Monitoring and Enforcement:
    • The Registrar’s Office is responsible for monitoring compliance with this policy.
    • Program advisors will assist in ensuring that students are aware of and meet the residency requirements.
    • Students who do not meet the residency requirement will be ineligible to receive a Career Enhancement or One-Year Certificate.
  4. Review and Revisions:
    • This policy will be reviewed every three years by the Registrar’s Office and academic leadership to ensure alignment with institutional goals and accreditation requirements.
