3357:12-21-03-Foundation Compensation Policy

The Executive Director of Zane State College Foundation is employed by Zane State College; therefore, compensation is determined and administered consistent with College policies for job classification and salary (Employee Handbook, Section 1000.06 through 1000.12).

The President’s Cabinet is responsible for setting the classification level of employee positions based on established criteria and for setting compensation ranges for each job classification level. Annually, the President’s Cabinet reviews the compensation ranges of each classification level and receives comparable compensation data from peer institutions.

It is the policy of Zane State College to provide salary adjustments conditionally to eligible employees effective July 1 of each year contingent upon satisfactory evaluations, completion of probationary period, sufficient funding, and approval by the Zane State College Board of Trustees.

The updates or adjustments are meant to ensure the continued marketplace competitiveness of the College’s salary program. Important factors that influence the magnitude of marketplace trends are: 1) local and national economic conditions, including the impact of inflation and changes in the cost of living; 2) current employment conditions and the related availability of personnel; and 3) changes in competitive hiring rates or starting salaries for particular positions. A copy of the current salary schedule is obtainable from the Zane State College Human Resources office.

Classification and salary recommendations are reflected in the minutes of the President’s Cabinet meetings and are forwarded to the Board of Trustees for action. Minutes of the Board of Trustees meetings are a matter of public record.
