Report Staff activities at the Board of Trustees meetings.
Section 2. The Vice-Chairperson shall:
Function as the Chairperson in the absence of the Chairperson.
Perform other duties as the Chairperson may designate.
Section 3. Secretary shall:
Record the proceedings of all Staff Senate and Full Staff meetings.
Record the attendance of all Staff Senate and Full Staff meetings.
Provide copies of the minutes of the previous meeting for approval by the Staff Senate.
Make electronic copies of approved minutes available to all members of the
constituency and President’s Cabinet.
Maintain the Staff Senate archives that include records for the past three fiscal years.

Article VI: Parliamentary Procedure
The “Rules of Parliamentary Practice in Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised,” shall govern the proceedings of the Staff Senate subject to special rules, which have been or may be adopted by the Staff Senate Constitution & Bylaws.
Article VII: Election Proceedings
The Staff Senate Chair will issue a call in April to the Staff for nominations for Staff Senate. The Staff Senate Chair will obtain permission from nominated candidates to place their names on the official ballot. The Staff Senate Chair is encouraged to obtain a recommendation from the nominated staff member’s supervisor prior to placing said staff member on the ballot.
The Staff Senate will conduct the election of Staff Senators in May. Full-time and annual part-time Staff are eligible to vote. One-half of the constituency must vote for the election to be valid.
The Staff Senate Chair will only cast a vote if it is needed to break a tie between two candidates.
If a special election is required, according to Article I, Section 3, to fill a vacant Senate position, the Staff Senate will follow the same procedures as in the annual election within thirty days. Ballots may be issued through campus mail or electronically by the Staff Senate Secretary.

Section 1. Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws may be accomplished with the following sequence of steps:
Amendments may be submitted electronically or in writing to the Staff Senate by a Staff Senator or a delegation of five members of the constituency.
The Staff Senate must pass the amendment by at least a one-half vote.
After passage by the Staff Senate, the amendment must be submitted within ten days electronically or in writing to all members of the constituency.
The constituency must pass the amendment by at least one-half vote within the 30- day period after submission to the constituency.
The Staff Senate Chair submits passed amendments to the President’s Cabinet for
final approval.
