A.POLICY
The Faculty Senate shall be the legislative and representative body of the Zane State College faculty.Its purpose is to promote the interest and welfare of the College in general and specifically the faculty in academic, economic, and professional domains, insofar as they are consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Zane State College.
B.POLICY GUIDELINES
Major Responsibilities
Represent faculty and make recommendations to proper administrative offices and groups.
Receive and review suggestions from the faculty.
Receive and review suggestions from the President, the Vice President for Academic and Student Services, President’s Cabinet and/or the Board of Trustees.
Membership
Faculty Senate shall consist of eight members. It will consist of six senators evenly distributed across the divisions, the chairperson who is elected on an at-large basis, and a past chair. If there is no way to evenly distribute six senators (eg. Four or five divisions), there shall be two senators from each division. Representation shall be maintained between general education and technical program faculty. If the chairperson is currently a senator, another representative from that division will be chosen by the division to serve for a one-year term.
