Academic Program Review Policy 3357:12-12-10

POLICY
Program review at Zane State (ZSC) is designed to ensure that the institution effectively meets the needs of its varied constituents. The evaluation of all programs and services is necessary to ensure the institution is meeting the purpose for which it was created. The purpose of the institution is set by the Ohio Revised Code 3357, shaped by the board of trustees, and outlined in the mission and strategic goals that are reviewed annually.

Comprehensive Institutional Services and Program Review of all departments helps the institution to not only maintain curricular rigor, fiscal stewardship, and effective customer service, but to evaluate ways in which all of these functions can be improved.

Effective program review provides accountability to taxpayers and students. Students must completing programs at Zane State College will help them achieve their goals, including transferability, entry into the job market, skill enhancement, and personal growth and enrichment. Taxpayers must be assured that the College is utilizing its financial resources in the most cost-efficient manner possible. Effective program review also plays a central role in aligning college-wide activities with the institution’s strategic goals, including student success and the needs of our regional stakeholders.

With these goals in mind, the college requires that all programs and service areas of the college submit a comprehensive review to the Institutional Service and Program Review Committee once every three years with the possibility of more frequent reviews if any issues are identified and need to be addressed.
