3357:12-11-08-Duties of Officers


DUTIES OF OFFICERS 3357:12-11-08


Chair of the Board

  • Preside at all meetings of the Board of Trustees.
  • Perform all duties prescribed by law and as directed by the Board of Trustees.
  • Call all special meetings.
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees.
  • Preside over the evaluation of the President.

Vice Chair of the Board

  • Perform the duties of the Chair in their absence or complete the vacancy of the Chair for the remaining term.
  • Perform other functions as requested by the Board.

Secretary of the Board

  • Keep records of all the meetings of the Board of Trustees.
  • Provide for the posting of all legal notices.
  • Sign all regular documents and contracts of the Board.
  • Maintain all records of the Board.
  • Notify Trustees of all meetings.


Treasurer of the Board/College

  • Receive, safeguard, and make payment of funds as directed by the Board of Trustees.
  • Be responsible for financial records belonging to the Board and maintain full and accurate account of all receipts and disbursements.
  • Report to the Board all transactions of funds as directed.
  • Sign vouchers for financial transactions as directed by the Board.
  • May also serve as Secretary. See section 3357.06 of the ORC.
  • Serve as the Fiscal Officer of the College
  • Certify that funds of the College are adequate prior to the expenditure of moneys or entering into contracts.
  • Maintain all financial books, papers, titles, deeds, etc. that are property of the College.
