ORC 3357.05 Appointment of Board of Trustees
Section 3357.05 | Appointment of board of trustees.


This section describes the processes of how to appoint technical college district trustees. It explains the two types of trustee appointments: local and governor-appointed. More specifically, Zane State College’s appointment process is detailed in ORC 3357.05,
section B number two (2). The trustee’s term of office is for three years.


Designation as Trustee Emeritus


The Trustee Emeritus title is an honorary title granted in recognition of outstanding service to Zane State College Board of Trustees. The individual should have made
significant contributions to the organization during their tenure as a trustee. This could include financial contributions, strategic guidance, fundraising efforts, or other forms of support that have helped advance the organization’s mission. To be eligible, a Trustee must meet the following criteria.

 

  • Retired from the Board after at least ten (10) years of service
  • Served as Chair or Vice Chair
  • Maintained good standing with the organization, having adhered to its policies, ethics, and standards throughout its tenure as a Trustee.
  • Approved by the current Board of Trustees by a majority vote.


Other criteria to consider:


The Trustee should have a demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the organization, as evidenced by their actions and involvement in advancing the
organization’s goals. The individual should have shown unwavering support for the organization through various challenges and changes, demonstrating loyalty and
dedication to its long-term success. The individual should have had a positive impact on the organization and its stakeholders, leaving a lasting legacy that is recognized and appreciated by the board and leadership.
