OTAP 1070 - Foundations of Occupational Therapy

OTAP 1070 will cover the history, philosophy, ethics, and definitions of occupational therapy; overview of occupational therapy practice areas and theories; differences between the roles of occupational therapist and occupational therapy assistant; functions of professional and regulatory agencies and the occupational therapy process. The course will also present the biopsychosocial dimensions of human development through the lifespan as relevant to the occupational therapy assistant.
Prerequisite: Acceptance into the OTAP program
