HIMT 1700 - Legal Aspects in Health Care

Evaluation of health care records as legal documents with special emphasis on confidentiality, privacy, release of confidential information, subpoenas for patient information, and security of records. Principles and organization of the judicial system, healthcare fraud and abuse, liability of health care providers, patient rights and health care compliance, and HIPAA regulations.
