ARTS 1010 - Art History I

This course is an introduction to major works of Western art from prehistory to the Medieval period. Students will become acquainted with some of the most important monuments and images from Western history and learn key artistic and historical terms, concepts and styles. Material will focus on the influence of historical and cultural context in shaping the production and development of art in different regions. This is a writing intensive course that will instruct students on how to view, analyze, discuss, and write about art.
Prerequisite: None Prerequisite/Corequisite: ENGL 1500
